We are pleased to announce that Justin Blitz, serving as trial counsel, has successfully
resolved a complex case involving a construction worker who suffered a severe injury
on a Manhattan construction site.
Our client was working on a platform on the 20th floor of a building under construction
on the Upper West Side when he was struck on the head by a large piece of debris.
This debris had fallen through a gap in the safety net above him. The immediate pain
from the impact led to extensive medical treatment, including a cervical two-level disc
fusion surgery after several years of conservative care. This injury rendered our client
unable to return to his career in construction.
Following nearly seven years of litigation, which included three appeals and two
unsuccessful mediation attempts, we were able to secure a settlement of $3.25 million
just as trial was about to commence. This settlement provides significant relief and
compensation for our client’s enduring hardships.
