A lawsuit started by Bert Blitz, Justin Blitz’s late father, and his former lawfirm, Glaser Shandel & Blitz, has finally resolved for $34 million. Thirty-two alleged victims who suffered cancer and other ailments from the former Brookfield and Fresh Kills landfills will receive a portion of the $34 million settlement.
The lawsuit was initially filed in 1993 against New York City and included victims as young as two years old. This case and the ultimate settlement was due to the may years of hard work that Bert Blitz spent fighting relentlessly for his clients. Attorneys from Blitz Law Group Fred Schulman. and Justin Blitz also spent many years working on the case and we are incredibly happy for the victims and their families who finally receive long sought after justice.
