Our client, a prominent publicist, recently faced a serious injury while retrieving her dog
from a sitter's residence in downtown New York. Having just returned from a vacation,
she encountered black ice on the steps leading to the building. Despite it having
stopped snowing nearly 48 hours prior, the building's management failed to properly
maintain the area, neglecting to clear the ice or apply salt.
As a result, our client slipped on the untreated steps, suffering a severe ankle fracture.
This injury required an open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) surgery and months of
intensive physical therapy. Unfortunately, the lasting effects of the fracture restricted her
ability to wear high heels and caused long-term limitations.
Blitz Law Group filed a lawsuit against the building owners, asserting that their
negligence directly caused our client's injuries. After several years of complex litigation,
we successfully secured a $560,000 settlement for our client just before the trial was
set to begin.
