Schulman Blitz, LLP Settles Case For Family Of Drowning Victim
Our client and his son went for a swim at a recreation center, where there was a lifeguard on duty. As he was swimming, our client began to sink under the water. Unfortunately, the lifeguard was not paying attention which caused our client to submerged under water for close to four minutes before the lifeguard finally realized what was happening and began efforts to pull him from the water and resuscitate him.
As a result of being under the water for an extended period of time, our client suffered a severe hypoxic brain injury due to being deprived of oxygen. Although he was able to be resuscitated, he sustained significant brain damage. He lived with in this devastated state for sixteen months in various hospitals and rehabilitation centers until he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Our client left behind a wife and three children who retained our law firm to bring a negligence and wrongful death lawsuit on their behalf.
